You are kindly invited to a TESCAN / VSG joint webinar on 3D FIB tomography
This webinar will feature a presentation and results of the entire workflow of 3D FIB tomography, from data acquisition using the TESCAN LYRA3 FIB-SEM microscope to 3D reconstruction using Avizo Fire software from VSG. Various examples will be used that will address Material Science applications.
3D FIB tomography is a method specific to FIB-SEM systems. It is based on serial SEM imaging of FIB-prepared cross-sections and subsequent 3D reconstruction and visualization of the material. Unlike a single cross-section, this technique gives the end user a better understanding of the volume distribution, 3D structure, and the relationship between three-dimensional objects. It has become an important tool to study materials at the micro and nano scale. This imaging technique afforded by TESCAN FIB-SEM microscopy, when paired with advanced 3D analysis in software is exceptionally powerful and understanding microstructural details. .
Webinar content:
- Introduction: Tescan / VSG , History of 3D acquisition (10 mn)
- Live data acquisition using TESCAN LYRA3 FIB-SEM microscope (20 mn)
- Image filtering, segmentation with Avizo Fire (10 mn)
- Quantitative analysis of 3D microstructure of the multi-phase material with Avizo Fire (10 mn)
- Other use cases of FIB/SEM data analysis with Avizo Fire (5 mn)
- Questions & Answers (5 mn)
Special emphasis will be added to address steps of the image processing workflow particular to the processing of FIB-SEM 3D image stacks. The webinar will demonstrate the combined effectiveness of high-resolution imaging on a TESCAN LYRA3 FIB-SEM workstation with Avizo Fire for digital characterization of key material properties.
Your hosts will be:
- For Tescan: Jeff Streger -Vice President of Sales and Marketing, NA
- For VSG: Dr. Mike Marsh - Application Specialist in 3D imaging analysis and visualization
