Avizo integration with LabVIEW from National Instruments
Advances in sensor and data acquisition capabilities have led to an explosion of experimental data. Consequently, there are growing needs to visualize and process a large amount of measurement data, often in real-time, with hardware in-the-loop.
To meet these challenges, VSG works with National Instrument on an integration prototype between Avizo® and LabVIEW.
This integration will allow LabVIEW users to take advantage of the advanced 3D visualization capabilities offered by Avizo in a seamless manner.
3D visualization needs from LabVIEW users:
- Continuing explosion of data size due to enhanced data acquisition capabilities
- Growing needs on comparing and fusing data from different sources
- Increasing appetite on interactivity and performance
The ideal complimentary tool to enhance LabVIEW’s 3D capability
Avizo’s graphical programming diagram fits well with LabVIEW convention, hence easier to adapt by LabVIEW developers.
It is possible to extract visualization and data analysis tasks that are common to a category of LabVIEW applications.
LabVIEW users will be able to take advantage of advanced 3D visualization and data analysis capabilities without re-inventing the wheel.
LabVIEW-Avizo interface example
Use LabVIEW’s text object and command object to create Avizo script and launch Avizo process. Avizo and LabVIEW threads are independent. Users can control Avizo interactively within LabVIEW VI.
3D Visualization thread on LabVIEW forum
VSG and National Instruments invite all LabVIEW users with current and future 3D visualization needs to participate in the discussion on NI forum entitled: "Do you use 3D visualization/graphs?"
