Zokero supercharges SeisWare™ seismic interpretation software with powerful 3D Visualization utilizing Open Inventor® by Mercury.

10 Dec 2008

Calgary, December 10, 2008 – Zokero, a leader in the exploration and production software market, has just released version 7.0 of its SeisWare seismic interpretation software, which includes a brand new 3D Seismic Visualizer, using the Open Inventor 3D toolkit by Mercury Computer Systems as its graphics engine.

SeisWare 7.0 contains a lot of new functionality, and the 3D Seismic Visualizer is the most significant to this release, says Shayne Stogrin, VP of Development. We chose to partner with Mercury Computer Systems, because their 3D graphics toolkit is well known and utilized across the industry.

SeisWare provides a premium seismic interpretation solution at an affordable price on a Windows® platform, with unrivalled ease of use, high productivity for the interpreter, and software stability. Version 7.0 of SeisWare comes with a 3D Seismic Visualizer, powered by Mercury’s Open Inventor .NET 3D Graphics Software Development Kits.

Open Inventor 7 by Mercury is an object-oriented, cross-platform 3D graphics toolkit for the development of industrial-strength, interactive, 3D graphics applications using C++, .NET or Java. The easy-to-use API, extensible architecture, and large set of advanced components provide developers with a high-level platform for rapid development of high-end, advanced 3D graphics applications.

Powered by the 3D graphics capabilities of the Open Inventor framework, the 3D Seismic Visualizer in SeisWare 7.0 allows Seismic data to be rapidly rotated, sliced, and animated. In addition, 2D and multiple 3D seismic volumes, horizons, faults, grids, wells, and attributes can be viewed simultaneously using different color schemes.

In addition to this 3D Seismic Visualizer, SeisWare 7.0 has many other new features such as the list manager, horizon curvature attributes, and cloned seismic displays. Enhancements to existing functionality include time slices, log editor, culture editor, crossplot, wavelet analysis, gridding, and much more.

The SeisWare product management team has selected Open Inventor by Mercury as its 3D engine because of Open Inventor’s renown as an industry standard, of its commercial support, an of its proven track record in the past 20 years.

"Both teams worked closely to ensure the best implementation of Open Inventor .NET in SeisWare," said Jean Bernard Cazeaux, Vice President, Visualization Sciences at Mercury Computer Systems. "SeisWare 7.0 looks fantastic, and the new 3D Seismic Visualizer contributes to make SeisWare one of the most comprehensive seismic interpretation software.package."
